I will not donate to ADA and yes, I'm a diabetic. I believe that any person who has diabetes should automatically be a member of this organization because they have the disease. But, when I called to become a member, they wanted a membership fee. When I told them I lived on a very fixed income and cannot afford that, they basically told me that I can't become a member. Well, I think that is wrong. If someone needs the services, regardless of income, they should be allowed. I cannot believe they "discarded" me like that. I will not donate to that orgazination and am appalled at anyone who would ask for donations on this site.

Sorry, I’ve gotten far more help for my diabetes from books, the Internet, and others who have it and are successful at taking care of it. To me the ADA is like the AMA… I’ll just leave it at that so as to keep the thumbs downs to a manageable level.

i would ask a store owner to let you set up a table out side and ask for donations. or i would sell hotdogs for donation or whatever, if you are trying to rais funds your not gonna get them on the internet. Find real people, even if you don't know them

Yes, I already donate thru my payroll deductions. I lost my mom to Diabetes.

No I wont. I believe any non-profit organisation should be operated like a business and thus should be able to raise funds by providing value in return for cash rather than asking for outright donations.
