Ifazzina – thank you for sharing this link. I can’t believe that this doctor said that people without symptoms shouldn’t be screened! The Australian Lung Foundation recommends that all ex/smokers over the age of 35 are screened with spirometry, and that early intervention is the key!
In any case, your grandfather was very brave to go on TV to talk (which is not easy for a COPD patient) about this disease and raise awareness. I’m very sorry for your loss.

Thank you for the link to this. So sorry about your grandpa. I lost my dad three years ago to cancer. Very sad to watch it. I was just told I have COPD at 46. I have three daughers and thank goodness they do not smoke. Thanks again.

This is my grandpa …
This is my grandpa who appeared in this news piece. He passed on January 16, 2008 from COPD caused from smoking. Its the worst disease out there!!!
